Diary: Weekend Diary report:

~~I cover my daily activities over Friday to Monday as part of my new arrangement making room for essay writing on the days between Monday and Friday.~~

As I now write I say: ‘Better later then neverder‘, to coin a phrase. My trip to our breakfast of colleagues this morning was cut short as I recorded in my Field Notes book 2 for this date. The rest of the day I spent in contemplation and sleep, but enough is enough, this diary needs to be written.

Last Friday Herman and I had our first lunch of the new year and it lasted three hours. Our topics ranged from family events, via Trump to extra sensory awareness and religion. Herman also mentioned his and Denise’s appreciation for the poem I gave them in which I say good bye to my now late sister Els. It moved them to tears he said and that it does me too and others.

On Saturday John joined me at ten am and we cleaned out much stuff for the recycling, discarding items for the bins and reorganising what is left, which is not little. However, I now have almost three open shelves in the storage, which I did not have before! I am going to set up room for garage sale stuff this spring and label some boxes as well.

I gave John the big ‘Staten Bijbel’ that had been sitting on my shelve here for almost fourteen years here and another seven in my condo and storage ever since. I inherited this heirloom from my Dad at his passing on February 16 1996. It was bequeathed to him in our family by Aunt Betsy van Brederode, a family of the lower nobility in the Netherlands.

So, take a bow son, thanks for your presence and help.

John and I had lunch in Kensington, after which he helped me some with my computer and my old web design files from the years 2010 - 12. ‘If you have not looked at them since then: ‘Let them go!’ was his advice, good but hard to follow. It was very helpful to have his help, company and advice. It gave me a chance to share some associated memories instead of working through this all by myself. So, take a bow son, thanks for your presence and help.

On Sunday I met with friend at the Palliser with about eight hearers in attendance and all good company. I took the bus both ways as my walking has become more difficult since only last year. I miss my walks through Lindsay Park, but now that the snow is cleared I can chance it when the temps are seasonal. Early January it was ca minus 25dC so that even Calgary’s Zoo two penguins had to come inside! These animal keep warm in groups, taking turn at the outer perimeter. This is hard to do with just the two of you!

I should mention that I worked on my essay “My World View” on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to good effect.

This Monday I already mentioned, so I have completed my half weekly diary report returning to it again on coming Friday. I should mention that I worked on my essay “My World View” on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to good effect. This growing essay is posted on my web site and accessible from the home page, with the date of the latest update indicated.
<8:21pm and 8:36pm~
