Almost all the snow is gone now in Calgary and the trees are starting their sprouting as do many other members of the plant kingdom! You are all welcome I say and that includes the feisty Dandelions!
Last week I had a surprise meet and chat with Bill Longstaf at the rejuvenated Second Cup down 4th street SW. He had moved from Mission to the Beltline and we discovered that we both had jettisoned our cars as too costly for what they provided. Also the intensity of the traffic and our increased reaction times played a role for both of us to ‘Let the cargo’! We had a pleasant reconnect after so many years, dating all the way back to SAIT ca 1986 and I hope to meet again.
Last Saturday’s cleanup was minimal as John had forgotten, but he did come down all the way to get my recyclables to the bins. Thanks John!
Last Saturday’s cleanup was minimal as John had forgotten, but he did come down all the way to get my recyclables to the bins. Thanks John! Yesterday Metta called from Victoria and we chatted for about half an hour. He is busy, but doing o.k., but was not interested in Peterson’s new book ‘12 Rules for Life’, understandably.
This past Monday I made my first appearance for this year at our SAIT Departmental colleaguel breakfast with half a dozen of us all told. It was all the snow this year that kept me away as I walk form the LRT station to our venue. Good to see each other again with more breakfasts planned.
At noon today I plan to meet at Knox with our little group and after that it is the turn of the personal lawyer, followed by a possible session at ShelfLifeBooks this evening.
Tomorrow Don and I plan to visit Rosebud, if it is not flooded out and on Friday Herman and I plan to meet for lunch, which will be followed with a ’rain check’ beer with Shirley around supper time. A social butterfly you might say, interspersed with significant hibernative type interludes.
