With mid twenty temps and sun, we’re happy as a Dandelion in the sun! And yesterday too, was a fine day as Don and I journeyed to Rosebud across the expanse of Alberta’s prairie landscapes rolling along over the hills and through the vales arriving there right around eleven am. Lunch buffet was ready followed by the theatre performance titled “Driving Miss Daisy” at 1:30pm. Compared to the movie this theatre performance relied heavily on dialogue, whereas the movie used imagery to convey the story, but it is a moving story either way and well worth taking in.
After the show Don and I sauntered around to the west of the ‘Opera House’ enjoying the landscape and the silence so clearly that I could hear it.
After the show Don and I sauntered around to the west of the ‘Opera House’ enjoying the landscape and the silence so clearly that I could hear it. Don grew up on the Saskatchewan prairie, while I just like those grand spaces, so both of us enjoyed our respite sitting on old wooden church benches taking in nature. Our return trip took us through Standard, where my missed and late friend Sharen was born in 1913. So, Don take a bow for organising this fine event, while I make my contribution with a forward payment to our valued CLEC cause.
Yesterday was also the birthday of my dear Mother, now so many years ago. May she have resolution and peace in the here after, such as that is. Later on today I’ll join Herman for lunch and plan to meet up with Shirley for a beer at supper time.
I added hand written notes on the 25th and 26th to my “Writings” of April 25, which I will record below under Writings of this daily Entry.
<10:45am, time to get ready for the bus.
