Yesterday the “Kricket’s” had its last day. I bought some gift bags and an Umbra Wifi case, all at 50% off and said goodbye to Dan with a ‘New Home’ card. But, we’ll stay in touch no doubt as he continues on in Lethbridge.
Last Friday Herman and I had a three hour lunch, which is not all that unusual as we cover a variety of topics from religion via philosophy and politics to family affairs and life experiences. Do we wander?- Yes; Do we enjoy that? - Most definitely!
I socialise now late in my life more than I ever did before and about this I most definitely say: ‘Better late than never’!
At supper time Shirley and I met at James on 4th, lucking into a patio table as we walked in. A perfect evening to catch up with personal and societal items while nurturing a shandy for Shirley and a wine for me. I socialise now late in my life more than I ever did before and about this I most definitely say: ‘Better late than never’!
Saturday passed uneventful as I relaxed from two previous days filled with activities. Sunday was cold with rain, but I beat most of that going to the Palliser. Jack showed up, as did Thomas with three more hearers to make six all told. Thomas was by himself, so I took a ride with him as we had not talked man to man since last August.
We relate various stories, but most intently about our process of getting older while of age, he being a few years ahead of me in that sense. I told him my view on this as follows. ‘When I was young and growing I had to learn all the new capabilities of the body, now in old age I am learning to let things go again;’ it is a learning process on both ends. And in the very end we learn to let go of the body!
