While waiting for John at the Perk, he texted being late and would meet at 10. I was halfway into my coffee and let it go, as I’d one before breakfast already.
Yesterday at the Palliser our company totalled seven all together; we should really meet as a house group, but that’s not Herman’s style. However, I intuit that we will not be going on like this much longer; for now I keep in mind the end of this year.
That used to be just a short walk for me in 2003, but now I have to go slow and take five every now and then.
Don and I were supposed to meet at Kingsland last Thursday, but I had a soup all by myself. I was not sure we’d planned to meet and neither was Don; better next time. On the way down, Elbow drive north bound was packed solid from the Elbow river at Lansdowne ave all the way south to passed Glenmore Drive.
So, for my return trip I took the train to Erlton and walked home from there. That used to be just a short walk for me in 2003, but now I have to go slow and take five every now and then. Fifteen years past 67 is not the same as when I was forty say, but I’m doing ok in most respects and am thankful for what I can do. And, that includes this typing and my talks, web work as well as my social visits.
Last Saturday I vacuumed the kitchen and the bathroom, after which I washed their floors, as well as the three floor rugs. This takes place in the bathtub for soaking, agitating and rinsing and is followed by drying these rugs, which takes until the next day.
On the way back from the Palliser on Sunday, I pick up the book titled “What the Mystics Know” by Richard Rohr at the Memorial Park library. Rohr writes in the style of short thought burst, like you find in the old calendar writing, but in a modern style. All good thoughts, but very declarative with little thought development. Incidental inspirational, you could say.
