, Tuesday. Weather like yesterday, that is chinook conditions.

I hope you enjoy reading Daily Entry for this day.

Diary: Audio file upgrading considerations and carwash:

~~Upgrading the audio files to the new html5 standards is explained and involves more work than expected. I consider following the ‘news’ sites as an example of using the ‘latest on top’ principle of home page presentation and a much considered carwash happens.~~

Much of my time yesterday was spent on computer work, the daily entry and the audio file upgrades. Such an upgrade takes about an hour. It involves the generating of the ogg-Vorbis type compression files, which is followed by the upgrading of the old 2010 html markup to the new html5. The latter involves the adding of links to the new ogg files, along with implementing the html5 audio controls. I also have a new styling for the actual presentation file. These are now colour coded by group, such as group 1, purple, for Christianity related presentations.

The final step involves the uploading to my website, which can be time consuming, because of all the additional ogg-coded sound files. This is then followed by the testing of the newly uploaded material and that always generates the call for a few corrections. So, altogether at least one hour per presentation, such as Christianity, ‘The Old Testament’ or ‘The New Testament’, which all three were posted yesterday.

I am not complaining, because I like this activity and feel that it is meaningful as well. It just surprises me that this converting process from that primitive state of 2010 to the now more modern and attractive state, takes as much time and effort as it does. It makes me realise the enormous amount of work that must be involved in maintaining a news site, such as the Globe and Mail, that changes daily, if not hourly.

But, it is usually just the top part that changes, while the rest can remain in place for a week or more. While writing about this, it dawns on me that this is a technique I should implement my self. I have quite a few changes to my site, but they kind of remain hidden down site ways, while the home page gives the appearance of the same old, same old. The basic feature that I could add is a ‘News Corner’, which would contain links to the most recent changes, additions, saved links and images on my site.

Last evening, after supper, I finally went to the car wash. I used the self-serve thinking they may have a automatic touch-less bay, but they did not. But, managed to do it myself, without ill effects on my leg. I did do the minimal, but it went better then I expected. Today is grocery day again and I will use the car once, instead of carrying two heavy bags twice. The rest of the day I plan to make good progress with the presentation files, now that I have a routine established.

Writings: Considering model modal and module narrative:

~~The concept and implications of the model narrative is expanded to consider the qualities of ‘modal’ and ‘module’ in facilitating a fit into various belief frameworks.~~

I have given some more thought to the ‘model narrative’ approach and that seems to be a natural way for me to proceed. I always make up stories as a way of understanding certain processes and/or events. And the word ‘model’ could also be modal and possibly as ‘module‘ even, since the narratives will be addressing certain topics, but rely on the structure of the handed down traditions of humankind.

Modal here would mean something of a sub-assembly as that is called in manufacturing, with the additional aspect - the modal one - that it would fit in various traditions in a generic way. In other words, you could apply the modal narrative with little change in different religious or belief frame works, be they secular, denominational or traditional.

The idea here is that you could accept the model narrative if it is helpful, but it should be applied as a modifier and not so much as a replacement of the handed down traditions and narratives.
