The first load of laundry - the whites - are tumbling away in the washer, while the darks are in waiting. Their turn comes in about thirty (30) minutes, followed by the sheets and towels as gate closers.
Yesterday afternoon I visited Jack and Vangie in their - still a bit new abode - in the Marda loop area of the former Currie grounds, the Regiments. It is a nice place with a second level ‘hang-out’ room, where Jack and I spent several hours behind the computer and later much chatting.
Men don’t talk? Tell me more, it was past four pm when I left! But, I should mention that we started with coffee and Vangie’s home baked cookies, that set us off to a tasty and chatty start. Vangie and Jack are such dedicated and accomplished home makers and hosts, which makes it a pleasure to spend some time at their abode in their company.
I had come over to transfer two pictures - still from our birthday lunch last Fall - from Jack’s computer to my stick memory. The email from within the Picassa image software was not working the way you would expect and we ended up using Outlook’s attachment method, which is more general than Picassa’s. While leaving, Vangie came with her last home baked cookies for me to take! Thanks Vangie, I hope that Jack won’t feel short changed!
I updated the four (4) narrative audio files, which had been overlooked. I now have to get going on the handouts, some of which are there, but all in need of upgrading to HTML5.
Pope Benedict the 16th resigned unexpectedly yesterday, but I am sure it was a well considered decision on his part. Why die in the saddle, I say. He is the type of person who likes solitude and study, not the rough, tough and tumble of that position, which was John Paul the Second’s home ground. Both Popes have pursued dialogue with the Islam, which is of course closer to home than the Buddhist and the Brahmin religions. Moreover, there are many Christians living in the House of Islam, which are all potential members of the ’Universal’ Church as the Roman Catholics like to call them selves. But, they themselves, are of course only a part of Existence Divine, which includes all that is.
The Orthodox Roman Church rejected and lost all those Mid-Eastern Christians long ago in its misguided political quest for dominance, fostering more splits along the way. Universalism only works if there is room for diversity of identity within its house, when not, people will move out!Coffee time at 10:00am with the third load due in twenty (20) minutes.
