Diary: Social visits and National Geographic articles:

~~Audio file transfer flopped, a Saturday of visits, Sunday morning coffee with friends and National Geographic articles.~~

This entry will be short since I’m due at my physio man in about an hour. My leg motions are close to normal and I can walk to Downtown again and about the neighbourhood. So, the therapy has worked well for me and I’m thankful it did.

Last Friday’s attempt to get my talk file transferred from tape to computer resulted in an inaudible copy and I will have to try again. The tape itself was ok, so the problem is in my transfer method.

Saturday was busy with a visit to the Bridgeland play ground with John and Annie. There, the fifth annual Japanese cultural event was starting up, which made for a festive ambience. Afterwards we stopped at the ‘MainDish’ where John treated us to a refreshment.

In the aft I said hello to Sharen, whom I’d brought some prepared fresh fruit, which is always a welcome treat for her. We spent some time in the inner court garden, which is a valuable asset to this now out of date facility. It is being crowded in with three and four story homes and its days have been counted I’m sure.

From there, it was on to the Co-op store and then to Judith’s, who had invited me for a meal, as I brought along her copy of ‘The Zealot’. We had an interesting conversation, in part about her past as she grew up in Pakistan and came here with her children. She lent me the March 2012 and July 2013 issues of the National Geographic with several interesting articles.

I read several last night and am quite surprised by the general content selection and style of this publication. It addresses a wide range of interests and is very informative using mainly factual events and aspects of our world. I am tempted to get myself a subscription!

It is time to get ready for my trip.<9:13am.
2013-08-21-P.S: I also met with Sarah, Rudy and Alec for an early coffee at the “Savour” tea place up 4th street.
