Looking at my calendar just now, I discover that ‘The Bab’ of Baha’i fame and faith, was borne on Derrick’s birthday, albeit that ‘Bab’ arrived there first. However, so did thousands of other people, about whom we will never know anything.
This Bab’s birthday interests me, because it fits in with my project of experiencing diversity on home ground. This in turn will be an aspect of my upcoming talk ‘My Belief as Practice’ this coming November the 24th, at the Palliser Hotel here in Calgary at eleven am.
I am in the early stages of exploring some local contacts in an attempt to put some flesh on the bones of the ‘good intentions of wholeness in diversity’. There is no better and cheaper way to this, than right here in Calgary, a city which has become very divers since I and my family moved here in 1973; by the way, I’m not making any claims here of having started something;)!
Yesterday I made good progress with the Design13 project for my photo albums gallery. I have even added the first new album, to wit: ‘Mandala1973’, which is a work in progress both ways. This means that the album will be expanding, as my mandala colouring proceeds, all aiming for the end of the calendar year as deadline.
I did have my constitutional walk yesterday in the breeze, but with sun and fair temps and in addition, I made a shopping trip after supper for some coffee, crackers and meat. This, because I missed my regular discount Tuesday earlier this month on account of my trip to Drum with my Swiss friends on that first Tuesday of the month.
