, Thursday. River fog is upon us. It means cold air is hitting the warm water of our two rivers. Yet, today’s high is set at 20dC, but that could have been early this morning!

Diary: Seminar comments surprise email and photo work:

~~Our small seminar group engaged in a lively and fruitful exchange last night and I note a surprise email, coffee and tickets, photo editing in Windows 7 and album construction.~~

Last night our seminar as conducted by Herman and the following discussion was lively and in good spirit. Our group was small, seven all told, but we had fun, as we became informed. Myself, I came away feeling uplifted, appreciated and encouraged by the level of our discussion.

Herman did wander onto topics he likes to mention - as I promised he would - but he did come back to the main theme of passion. He approaches this theme quite intellectually, but all the same does proscribe the way to find and express your passion. So far, so good with session one behind us.

Later today coffee with John and tickets for next week’s CPO Plaza performance on ‘The sweet Live’, which Shirley and I hope to attend. Yesterday I had a surprise e-mail from Helene, who replied to my Fairmont card from last summer. She and Peter just got back from their French abode, where they spend the summers. She is not expecting me back in Holland, but miracle do happen:)!

Yesterday I went through my picture files going back to mid September, using Windows 7 native slide and preview software. I am going to study this software a bit more, because I am finding Photo Elements 7 too cumbersome to use and complicated to learn.

I just want to delete, rotate and label the images in the native picture in the folders that are labelled by date. From these so edited picture folders I then collect the images to build up a labelled selection of a certain theme.

Next, I run such a collection in a batch process through my image scaling programmes. This results in reduced file sizes for internet and email use and a re-labelling of the filenames in the process. This is what I now aim to set up as a regular process to create my albums.
