My desktop is already working away at uploading the audio file of my talk. This mp3 version is twice the size of the ogg coded version, but for speech that difference is not as important as it is for music. Last night I uploaded all the other files, but it was past midnight, so the slow mp3 had to wait until now. I’m still vacillating about the readings in my talk, from the hardcopy internet reports. Do I type them in verbatim, present them separately as audio files, or do I just leave things as they are?
I also need to get some more images reduced to display and thumbnail sizes for this month’s daily entries. I have the full size photo files, but they are too big, so I want to do some work here as well. I’ll take a quick look to see how far my audio upload has come; one quarter done at 16KiB/s for a 60MB file! Not too swift!
My Epson XP-410 has run out of start up ink, so I’ll have to attend to that today and will combine that with an inquiry regarding photographing my mandala, before I get it mounted. I also want to get a high quality digital file this way, but the photographer may treat these the way they held on to film negatives.
Yesterday’s get together at the Seniors’ Tea was well attended, since we got free legal advice on will making. You need three instruments as that is called: the will, a power of attorney and a personal directive. The latter spells out your wishes regarding resuscitation and end of life support. You should also make sure that the executor has an unsigned copy of the will.
For today, coffee with John this aft and maybe also a haircut. The KiB/s is down to 14!
