From across the avenue, the sun is lighting up my computer screen, but does not shine on it directly. A bit late this morning, I seem to be later as the week moves to its end! And yes, I was busy last night from six pm to the news at nine and then still with some web cruising until past eleven!
Life is tough in the fast lane, even in retirement and now I can only blame it all on myself! No complaints however, but rather gracious thankfulness that I am able to enjoy all these activities in my life.
The weather is going to turn on Saturday and we’ll be heading for almost ten days of minus twenty. So, today I wash my car, do some errands and visit Sharen. I also plan to pick up the ink cartridges for my Epson printer.
Last evening I spent three hours on the images files from my cameras, editing, tagging and selecting them for use with my daily entries. Next came the scaling down to display (~100KiB) and thumbnail (~10KiB) sizes. This in turn was followed by the placing of those results into the designated image folders of the 2013 Daily Entries folder all now located for reference in the library directory.
I processed about fifty images this way using my newly discovered image scaling production files which I located this week in the PHP-work folder. I made those up half a year ago for each of my two camera’s, but had forgotten about them.
This scaling worked quite slick, since each scaling programme is tailored to the camera image file prefixes. All I need to add yet is an image input folder for each camera type files, whereas the camera type outputs can be accumulated in the shared output files, one for each size.
Yesterday’s tea meet with John went as planned and we will have a last lunch in the former ‘Siding’ bistro in Arts Central, before that attractive building will be torn down for one more unneeded tall boy.
After our tea, I stopped by at Winners and bought a pair of nice Docker pants for twenty (20) $$. Next came a hair cut on the way home. As I made my way in and out of down town, I ‘peppered’ my town walk with photos. I think it was the favourable sun angle from one to three pm that tricked my eye into triggering my Canon camera. And, I was looking for some more images for my daily entries for this month, as I mentioned above.
The sun is now actually shining on my computer screen and keyboard! This is kind of weird, in that my hand’s shadows precede my fingers to the key as I type. It is a bit distracting, but I do appreciate the sun, although I do tend to miss the right keys because of it. It also nice warms my back and neck, while the coffee is perking!
