Yesterday I did do the floors in the aft, bought two more cards and got a few new polymer five and ten banknotes for a present plan and I mailed my cards for Holland and Egypt - same postage. That took me to four pm at which time I posted my daily entry, cruised the news and prepared for supper.

Just after six I cruised in my automobile to the library and then to the Chocolaterie in Connaught, which had closed at six. Next was Kensington Art Supply to show Jennie my finished mandala, which she much admired. We ended up talking about beliefs and religions, because I mentioned my website. This took our conversation into a different realm altogether. I had parked at the Hilhurst United church to avoid deep snow in the alley way, but it was deep snow there as well, plus a long cold walk! Anyway, I skipped my planned visits to the Coup and Reid’s; this was not a night to be out and they can wait.

The coffee meet time for the former book club friends got settled for the 29th by means of a phone call after all the emails. That final phone call always sneaks in there I find.

The delayed writing is coming closer. This morning I made a connection between the Christian Nativity story as a symbolic expression of humanity becoming conscious of the need to see our human existence as our destiny. That is, the human purpose is to enhance our existence as humans in all its potential. This in contrast to notions held in Antiquity, about humans having to come free of this fateful and despicable human existence such as the Gnostics believed.

The human record over the last 60k years shows that development is possible and successful, in spite of the many setbacks. Let me mention an example. Yesterday the Gaia satellite launched, going on its month long journey of one million clicks. From that final position it will scan and locate one billion visible objects which amount to just one percent (1%) of our Milky Way galaxy, generating twenty (20) years of analysis work.

Considering that humans started with stone tools, even this attempt alone is breathtaking. This is the ball we as humans have to keep our eyes on and at the same time work on the very serious problems that we do have on our planet.

There is no reason on earth - so to speak - that we cannot work on both endeavours at the same time. The becoming aware of this necessity is the process that the nativity story illustrates. It is on this earth that things are happening for us humans, not somewhere else.
