Diary: Laundry riddle Tea webwork and letters:

~~The Tea was lively as usual, I complete my long daily entry and ‘withdraw’ late and add a riddle for today.~~

The first laundry load is due in twenty five (25) minutes and I have only sufficient change for two load cycles, so I’ll get off lightly with the laundry aftermath. This reminds me of a joke I have composed as follows: Q. What do you call the career of a mathematics graduate? Answer: See below!

Riddle: Q. What do you call the career of a mathematics graduate?

Yesterday I joined the Seniors Tea, all immigrants more recent than I am and most of them from Philippines. We always have good laughs and fun, which is hard to avoid in this lively group. There is a multi cultural potluck scheduled for March I think, which is right up my ‘multi-cultural’ alley, along with festivities.

I was late last night, or rather early at one am, so I’m doing pretty good being at my station this early. The lateness was due to my long afternoon sleep after the tea, but it had an other reason as well, which I will explain under my writings header.

Since I did not feel that sleepy yesterday evening, I finished the edit of the daily entry and posted it. Then, I explored the way I would set up the Left_Hand work category with the four additional books that are to be posted. I decided that the ‘Topicals’ group or list category format would be most suitable and explored that also by setting of the required group or list page.

This latter activity made me late, because I also discovered that my folders in which I do off-site work related to my website, overlap and have duplication between them. This needs to rearranged, similar to the mentioned image folders that also have accumulated over the almost five (5) years of web work.

Laundry turnover at about ten am and as I look out of the window a few lost flakes twirl under the forces of air currents and gravity. I sent Shirley a link to the article advocating writing a weekly letter to a fellow human being. Now she wants me to translate it as well, over a coffee at a new venue. Well, how far can friendship go, I ask:-) We’ll have to set a date and in the mean time I’ll send her the link to my relating Daily Entry.
The answer is: ‘Aftermath’! I know, it is a real cruncher.

Writings: Completing yesterdays discover and express guideline:

~~I discover several additional concepts and insights that go to making more complete the ‘discover and express’ guiding principle that I described yesterday.~~

Yesterday afternoon’s contemplative snooze ended up with the notion and feeling experience that ‘the heart’ had to be a supplementing component of my reported insight ‘discover the interconnectedness of all existence [divine] bringing it to conscious ------ expression‘.

By this I mean that feelings of the heart as we know those, must accompany the mentioned discovery and expression process, forming a whole. Now that I write this, I realise that this means that human ethical and moral values must be part of the process and outcome.

Returning to my thoughts of yesterday afternoon, I realised then that the heart meant ‘feelings, emotions and feeling-values’1). This led me to the feeling function as a contributing and influencing source. I expanded this to the intuitive function, because it informs me with inner direct knowing and insights. And with these two in place, the thinking and sensing functions were not far behind.

This functional foursome2) then is our modern view and understanding of the old formula ‘with all my heart, with all my mind and all my ability and power’, but I would leave in place ‘with all my power’, indicating that the four functions need to be empowered in order to do their discerning tasks.

Taken together [laundry time] I have what I could call the operating set of my lifetime, defining my purpose and the method to achieve it. In away it is like the ‘discover and express’ directive itself that now is applied in my own life understanding.

To me this ‘conscious making’ has always been important, implicitly when young and becoming explicitly understood as I passed the midlife marker at around fifty in my case. This is my particular journey and process, but there are many other ways to accumulate and understand life experience as to which serves best the personal objectives, what ever these maybe.

To me, it was important to discover the explicitly objective description. This sense for the need for that ‘objectiveness’ has been with me for as long as I can remember and at times causing misunderstanding and conflict.

Notes:
1) The activities in the amygdala component - the seat of the emotions - of the brain are reflected and sensed in the heart. This is a finding of modern research, that should also be taken into account. Another related finding is that the neo-cortex and the amygdala can and do interact.
2) These four functions are - in the opposing pairs of thinking v.v. feeling and sensing v.v. intuiting - documented by and applied in the
