Yesterday and Saturday were in the mid teens, while a week before it was minus thirties dC! Every body [sic] is breathing easier and with delight! On Saturday John and I had coffee at W-park, while Annie was doing eastern gymnastics. On Sunday I went to meet my friends at the Palliser and in the aft met with Sarah and BJ for a coffee and a walk to the Cliff street playground with Alec.
On Saturday night Michelle and I went for our ‘ethnic’ dinner at the ‘White Elephant’ at 19th street and about 20th ave NE. This was a Thai basement restaurant with superb food, for which we stood in line even! All home made family cooking and very pleasant service. They open at five and close at eight pm.
While we waited Michelle suggested that we study the menu ahead of time, which was a good idea. The beer and food tasted very good and the portions were so large that we took an other meal home. Once home we had a glass of Michelle’s port, with some thinly sliced Havarti cheese and a lively chat about our interests.
The fixing of the bathroom ceiling is approaching its final stage to day, with the painting still left to do after today. Once that is done I’ll have to wash the bathroom down a bit before returning to normal use of it. Right now I am doing the laundry again and have the first load switch due in about ten minutes.
My collective email about Sharen’s passing does not appear to have come off and I’ll have to check on my procedure with the blind-copy feature. This delay will give me a chance to first finish the Sharen Memorial Album. On Friday aft I took some flowers and a card to the Cedars Villa home for the staff at the Willow, which was much appreciated. Such a short visit this time with Sharen gone and her corner in the room empty of occupation. I’m still adjusting and am looking forward to the memorial event at the end of this month in Standard.
