Well, the big soccer match between my old country Holland and Argentina ended in a 4 to 2 penalty shootout in favour of Argentina, all after a well played and very evenly matched match. Saturday Holland and Brazil will battle over third place finish, while Germany and Argentina – no strangers – will play over first and second.
If Holland would have won yesterday, then the audience for the final would have been low in Brazil. This may be the reason Van Gaal made those odd last minute substitutions, before the shootout. Even I would find a final match between Holland and Germany a little boring!
Last night I made one outing to get some last minute dvd-s on sale at Casablanca, which closes this coming Sunday. I went for a mix of a two docus, 2 comedies, a thriller and Annie Proulx’s ‘The Shipping News’, a novel I read in my lit class at MRC back in 1996. Eight dvd-s are set aside and today is payday.
Later this aft Juliet and I will have our computer dinner social and maybe I’ll even see my son before that, but he is quite busy these days. Last nite I deleted all my cookies on my desktop using the web developers tool bar to do so, with the result that Shaw webmail won’t accept my sign in strings. I’ll have to get Shaw help to get this cleared up.
