Diary: Activities heat sleuthing and planned activities:

~~ Laundry, coffee, visits, shopping, cooking and dishes ask for my attention along with some investigating aimed at resolving our building heat problem.~~

Yesterday morning was spent on laundry and my daily entry, which was followed by lunch and a snooze. Then came my coffee meet with Jack which lasted for an hour and a half. We had not seen each other much, so there was some catching up to do on family, health and travel.

Next came a single shopping trip to Safeway, single since I shopped some earlier and have been away as well. At DJ’s I spent about thirty five on produce last Saturday, which makes one hundred dollars together for the monthly start.

Next came a call to the credit union to find out who cashed the rent cheques. This was not resolved, but it became clear that Tara Lee is not an incorporated company in Alberta. I was given an Alberta Government number for Land Lord and Tenant situations. They in turn gave me an Alberta Health number since ‘no heat’ as a health issue.

From there I was given the number for the Health Inspection service, which then resulted in a call from the actual inspector. I was promised a follow up on the dead lock situation between Landlord and the building plumber company.

Life is tough, but I used to camp in February with my scout troop, so I know I can handle this heating interrupt.

In the evening Michelle stopped by and we updated each other on the heat situation. Thanks to her efforts we now know that the building must be maintained at 22dC on a regular basis and never be below 16dC in the most exceptional case. My thermostat shows 18dC now, so we are not in good shape considering that the weather is relatively mild at present.

Also during the evening I managed to get my daily entry posted on my web site, cooked my supper, did the dishes and watched the TV-news and read internet news reports. Over night I had to get up to place my Hudson Bay Point blanket on top of my duvet in order to get warm again!

Life is tough, but I used to camp in February with my scout troop, so I know I can handle this heating interrupt.

Today I plan to visit Juliet in the aft and attend Herman’s course session three at the Palliser Hotel. I hope to hear something from the health inspector, but that may take a few days. I have the number to call, but I’ll wait for now. It is time for coffee, some phone calls and the composition of a note to update our (M. and T.) tenants on the Tara Lee Heat Deficit.
