Yesterday morning breakfast cum lunch with my former colleagues from our department at Sait. We had a good crowd and a good connect, but the discussions besides the ‘what do you do’ are now also about our health situations as these unfold among the older of my former co-workers, which includes me. However, this does dampen the spirits and we are all looking forward to the next morning eat.
After our breakfast I stopped by at the North Hill shopping center as I usually do. There is a good Loonie store there, where I picked up some more yellow steno or note pads and some dish cloths.
I stop there also, because Sharen and I visited this mall quite often for a coffee and some shopping. I still miss our weekly visits at times and I find it soothing to just be reminded of our friendship as I walk through that mall.
In the aft Elisabeth stopped by to join me for a walk and a stop at Savour where she treated me to a tea and cake. The weather was mild and sunny and the conversation quite engaging in the sense that is was an exchange and not a combination of monologues.
Framing my talk in time is a delicate balance as that famous book title about India says.
Later on I spent quite a bit of time and effort on making a mental picture of and schema for my up coming talk. I now have beginning, center and end sections for my talk, but keep thinking about other concepts to add and explain.
So, it is getting time - see below - for a comprehensive outline and to firm things up. However, if I do this too early the gestation process stops. I have to make time for the whole talk to yell and not stilt the result by firming things up too early on. A delicate balance as that famous book title about India says.
<9:39am, I’m going for a walk.
<10:04pm, close.
