Diary: Successful talk and planned activities:

~~My Sunday presentation went well and now I plan an essay the same. The next talk is planned and so are some mundane affairs for today.~~

My big event of this weekend was the Sunday presentation at the Palliser, where I took my regular turn for Herman. My talk was titled “Tolerate one another” and was well received as that is worded. However, it had taken me about three attempts at a formulation, before I settled on one. It traced my own journey to this take on tolerance that I have today.

Instead of a meditation I had come up with a word puzzle. It asked you to order seven behaviours that would turn a stranger into a friend. This generated quite a lively discussion afterwards at coffee time. Attendance at ten is good these days, in particular for me, as my old friend Shirley showed a bit later.

Instead of a meditation I had come up with a word puzzle.

The topic of ‘tolerance’ within humanity still leaves much to be said and I have many untouched ideas remaining that I consider relevant. Instead of forging that into a second talk on the same subject, I have decided to write an essay on it instead.

The topic for my next talk will concern the Maya culture and religion, about which much has become known during my lifetime. I read about the Maya when I was in second year Junior High, so I am curious myself to find out what we know now. The talk is set for March the fifteenth, so I’ll have adequate time to study my tomb “Maya” edited by . I acquired it a year ago and it has been patiently waiting for attention, as is a book’s lot.

Today is recycle and market day since the weather will turn later this week. On Saturday I hope to take in the one day art show on Canadian Impressionists here at the local gallery. Also today or tomorrow I’ll have to do some admin, as well as do some much neglected sorting later on in the week.
<10:14am and that is all folks!
