This weekend I spent in relative lethargy, even though I had made plans for action. Saturday started with a trip to get milk and the weekend Globe and Mail. It had one good article “The power of speech” by John Allemang, relating to the satirical caricature of the Prophet of Islam in the French publication “Charlie Hebdo”, which has a circulation of fifty thousand.
This whole situation with its violent emotive forces on both sides, occupied me mentally all weekend and are still vying for my attention. I did not want to dismiss this mystery of cultural interaction with all its implications, by starting to do something unrelated. So, I kept mulling over all these events and still have not placed them satisfactorily. I may elaborate about this later on.
This weekend's Globe and Mail had a good article 'The power of speech' by John Allemang on the use of satirical cartoons.
The other topic that occupied me was item three of my resolution list, namely ‘The Teaching’ relating to Existence Divine. I have now worked out a rough model of the way these teachings can be presented and recorded this in my “Fieldnotes” number III (3) titled “Teachings”.
In these formulation processes I tend to mentally go over the actual wording time and again, making slight changes and repeating them for the purpose of consolidation. It is a gestation process that takes time and is like the sculpting of an object that is slowly chiselled out from its raw material.
