Diary: Coffee Maya study and webwork:

~~Long coffee with Jack, study of Maya religious ideas and Left_HandJe Suis Human’ posted.~~

Today I intent to write about ‘Teachings’ of Existence Divine as I resolved in my resolutions. However, I am not sure whether to keep those writings separated from these entries or to make them a part of it. I may do both for some time.

Last night I studied in the Maya tomb again, staying with chapter six. What is left now is the aside about the dwarfs, but I did not want to study more than an hour. After taking in this very different material I switched to web work and posted yesterday’s entry complete with the Left_Hand drawing titled ‘Je Suis Human’.

Jack and I had a long coffee talk from 12:30pm to about 1:45pm, roaming from personal experiences, politics at times and mutual areas of interest. Religion in its various forms is part of that and Jack asked me to send him my description of ‘Existence Divine’ on which I have now settled as best and will write about below.

I did get another phone call from Rene, who sounds more confused than I have ever heard him. He does not appear to be making much progress there in the psychology department. This may have to do with the absence of his sister; hopefully he will come around soon.

For today I resolve to send at least one email. This sending of emails has run into barrier somehow, that I need to over come. I also want to line up a coffee with John for this week. He and I need to look for a ‘cultural event’ to go to as this has not happened for quite a while.

Writings: Existence Divine Teaching One:

~~After many considerations and much thought, I formulate Existence Divine Teaching One.~~

My motto here is:
New ideas must enter circulation in order to become defined and understood.

Preamble:
Reference is FieldNotes book III (3) pages five (5) through nine (9), dated 2015 01 09, 10 and 11, but it is not verbatim.

Existence Divine:

  1. Existence lends reality to Divine, whilst Divine imbues Existence with meaning, together constituting the Mystery of Existence Divine.
  2. Existence Divine is the totality of existence, known and unknown, knowable in part to us humans as we know from experience, traditions and modern knowledge.

Existence lends reality to Divine, whilst Divine imbues Existence with meaning, together constituting the Mystery of Existence Divine.

  3. Our uniquely human contribution to this mystery is the discovery of ethics and its rules, which continue to be formulated as human society evolves.
  4. New knowledge is discovered in boundary situations, where conventional knowing is not effective and revelations, discoveries, insights introduce new ways of knowing and proceeding.
  5. Knowing how humanity evolved over time, increases our responsibility as to how we proceed from this present moment in our existence.

Guidance:

Based on our - as humankind - study of the sciences, such as cosmology, biology, history, traditions and others, we know that adaptation is a gradual process in which the old is valued and modified in response to new influences, yet maximising the integrity of the original.

This principle we must use as guide while we confront new situations in our present integrating world wide society and face the need to value the unfamiliar. As we proceed in this manner we will be able to increase the diversity of our understanding and expression of our own existence as humanity, within the mystery that is Existence Divine.

Divine includes what we humans call the good, the bad, the fearful and the blessed, including all there is, can be and may be.

Afterthought:

We know that the unknown by far out strips what we known. This is the acknowledgement of the mystery of existence in it self. Existence exists, which is recognisable in the old mythologies where ’Existence’ is represented by the ‘Creating gods’. No mythology explains their becoming or origin, they just are, like existence just is.

However, existence by itself is not really needed and yet is very demanding to cope with as we humans well know and have experienced. This confronts us with the question for the need of existence in the first place.

Thinking about such things - in what was a boundary situation for me in 2006 - I was confronted with the revelation - a direct insight - that existence is not just existence, but is ‘Existence Divine‘.

Divine being the ever present unknown along side and including the known with which we are familiar. Divine includes what we humans call the good, the bad, the fearful and the blessed, including all there is, can be and may be.
