Diary: Laundry tooth work and puzzling:

~~Unattended laundry is in my way, teething problems, a class of mystics and doing the world puzzle.~~

It’s been almost a week since I wrote a daily entry and it feels good to make one again today. The laundry is awaiting my turn at around 10-am, when I’ll see what’s laundring downstairs. We now have new machines, but I have not used them yet.

Last night was our ‘class’ with Herman, which was well attended, with new and familiar faces enhancing the scene. Ron gave me a ride back home this time. We had not met since last spring I think.

In the mean time, after Valentine’s and the family long weekend, I ended up in the dentist chair. What I suspected was borne out and I now have to get two caps put in, which is a pricey affair in. But, Ken is a good dentist and I want to have him do the work sooner rather than later.

So, no fancy trips this year, along with a tight budget! This will keep me from buying stuff I do not really need. It will also be motivation to attend and enjoy the simpler pleasures in life, such as DVDs and books from the library, along with walks in the park, now that the season is getting more pleasant.

Over the weekend I started on the world puzzle that Jeanette lent me, when Elisabeth and I visited there. It took me several days and a rearranging of my living room, but yesterday I laid the last piece! It looks like an impressive whole and the experience was a valuable geography lesson about statehood on this planet.

However the USSR was at the top of its game, which made country geography a whole lot simpler!

Not a piece of land remains unnamed or unclaimed and I discovered some known unknown ones that have been added since I had my elementary school lessons. Even during my high school days, the colonies still had their presence on the map, albeit a diminishing one. However the USSR was at the top of its game, which made country geography a whole lot simpler!

10-am, time for a laundry check. It is now 10:30am, with a restarted computer and a coffee break behind me, but without progress on the laundry scene. There, the done load still sat unattended. I’ll give it until after lunch before I’ll retry my turn.

Writings: ExisDivin and my own mystic saying:

~~Yesterday’s class on mystical sayings inspire me to compose one this morning on the spirit’s enrichment.~~

Last night’s evening session and discussion on ‘The secret of the mystics’ - secret and mystic have the same meaning, mystics are people who have a secret - was more lively than usual, which does not hurt. Herman presented us many quotes and sayings, thirteen in all, that have been support for him during his life.

I think it was Herman’s willingness to be more open about his own experiences that gave us as participants, increased freedom to express our views.

My spirit is enriched by the experience of my body.

Last night at home I reread some of the sayings in my notes, as well as Psalm 23 and 139, which Herman had referred to. Those I compared with other well known sayings from various religions about our human situation and on awareness and connectedness with the ’Divine’. The experience of such connectedness is usually classified as a ‘spiritual experience‘.

This morning, getting up and recalling last night’s discussion and readings, resulted in a new saying: “My spirit is enriched by the experience of my body.”

I felt this to be a wonderful insight, because it validates the experience in this physical world and biological life in the body, rather than disavow the same, as so many religious traditions have done and do. This saying conveys that body and spirit complement each other within existence, which I have called ’Existence Divine’.

This complementary state we can further enhance by bringing both states of existence into conscious awareness. This expresses what human religious traditions hold as a goal, since time immemorial and still do.
<11:50am after lunch and after laundry, dinner, edit and a postponed supplement: 6:46pm~

Draft Supplement for later:
These complementary states also fits naturally with the idea of continuous existence and awareness, which I suggested earlier. At the time I also noted that for most of us a memory barrier exists

This barrier to memory recall can be reduced in each lifetime cycle by integrating the emotions as these relate to living in the body. This allows for conscious experience of both states, with the experience enriched spirit increased in understanding, now in turn informing (intuition) the bodily state of existence.

I see it as our as a prime individual purpose to work on this integration of emotions in our personal life , along with the commitments we have living within our human society.
Our human collective task is to learn to live and function together as we find ways to accommodate the diversity of expression that is characteristic of our human world!
End.
