Diary: Hyacinths visits and shopping:

~~Sybil and I have a ‘Kaffee Klatch’, then prepare a meal with Juliet and make plane for shopping and lunch.~~

Blooming bulb fields of hyacinths are greeting me from my Dutch calendar, purple and pink in colour, but not with their distinct scent. That did come from the one hyacinth I bought a few weeks ago, but which flower has now expired. I have decided to get some African violets or Cape violets this year, like I used to have in my condo.

Yesterday morning I had coffee with Sybil at Savour. I had brought a few photos of my family and this opened the conversation beyond the immediate and familiar topics. We always have a very animated and mutually valued connection and unexpectedly so, considering the differences in our backgrounds.

I have decided to get some African violets or Cape violets this year, like I used to have in my condo.

In the aft I visited with Juliet to type some more of her story and to get the printer up to speed. It had been dormant for months and needed some coaxing; it is still dropping an ‘ink pass’ every eight text lines, as it goes back and forth with its head. London drugs will enlighten me further I hope.

Together we prepared an oven dinner of chicken and veggies, which came out quite well after about two hours. This was a bit long for the chick, but needed since we put the potatoes in late. No salad this time, but we had the cooked veggies instead. Good show we both felt. It is also a sign of good cooperation to be able to work side by side in a kitchen!

Today lunch with Herman at the regular time and place. It is too bad that he does not like the ambience of the Railway Café at Heritage park. It’s bright and open design is more in keeping with the season than our current venue.

But, before that lunch I plan to stop by at Ikea for some candles and a general quick look around. I have still in mind a possible flower stand for at the kitchen window, but it has to be high enough and have two shelves.
<9:30am~
