Yesterday’s succinct statement mentions three bases as follows, the realm of humanity, Existence Divine and tradition. All three need some further elaboration if the meaning of my mentioned statement is to be clear and meaningful.
I consider the ‘realm of humanity’ to be a part of ’Existence Divine’ [see below], but only as one of other realms of existence, such as plants, animals and including unknown realms of existence anywhere.
What I consider unique about our human realm is the acquisition of consciousness, the ordering of our human experience world and specifically our having formulated rules of ethics that govern our own behaviour.
Ethical behaviour we do not encounter in nature on Earth among the other species or in the universe. We humans had to work hard and suffer much to acquire it, but it is our most unique accomplishment and treasure.
Tradition follows most logically here, because all our human traditions contain teachings about ethical behaviour. In addition they also provide a frameworks for our human experience, as these became formulated with experience over time for various people. To formulate rules regulating behaviour among these formed traditions is a modern challenge in the realm of humanity.
Another challenge for humanity today is the establishment of communication with other centers of conscious existence to form a network that might ensure continuity of this rare ability throughout existence.
[9:30am, phone; Elisabeth called to let me know that JK passed on yesterday. He led last Sunday’s service for Gabriella! We live like the grass of today … Bless his soul.]
Existence Divine is the third base of the three. It is the name I gave to an awareness and insight that I experienced in the Spring of 2006, when preparing for my talk titled “In Search of the Sacred”. I have described this experience in detail earlier in my writings.
Existence Divine includes all there is, a mystery, but knowable. The mystery is in the fact that we humans know and are conscious, but limited out of necessity of being conscious.

The consciousness arises out of the tension between the little that is known and the totality of the unknown. This includes what we call the ‘divine’, which represents that what we do not know, cannot know, but which may reveal to us in unexpected events and experiences.
This description differs from earlier ones and so reflects that indefinable and autonomous aspect of ‘Existence Divine’ which we are part and parcel of, since we too exist!
Mid January this year I made a few entrees regarding teachings relating to the concept of ‘Existence Divine’, including a Left_Hand drawing.
A note on the idea of the tradition of one’s own upbringing. I find it important to maintain continuity with those early teachings about values, rules and identity. I view them as a base from which I started to frame my personal experience growing up and kept adding to, framing the edifice of my life experience. This does not preclude some tearing down, but consists mainly of remodelling and the changing of spaces, textures and additions! Anyway, you get the drift; don’t throw stuff out that is part of your heritage, but adapt adeptly!
