Diary: Charity examined:

~~I rediscover charity for myself, but appear so far to be missing in Manichaeism.~~

I did some desk cleaning on my Toshba, before opening this daily entry. I save images from websites at times to my desktop, where they accumulate until they cause confusion and I clean them up in a folder for that year.

This morning at awaking I am struck by the notion that my feelings of charity have been low in my awareness for some time. I have been much more occupied with assertiveness for myself. When and why I shifted to this assertiveness attitude I don’t recall, but recognising my lost sense of charity felt like meeting with an old friend. I’m happy that I have recovered it.

I will now have to do a dedicated search for ethics and morals in Manichaeism, because there must have been some.

Now, in a follow up that appears to be related I noted while making breakfast, that Manichaeism has few reference to ethics in my sources. For Mani it was all about using knowledge to free the light from the matter in which it was trapped, as I have read so far. I will now have to do a dedicated search for ethics and morals in Manichaeism, because there must have been some.

The reason I make a note of my own and Mani’s notions on the notion of charity is that my own awareness this morning seems to have triggered my noting its absence in Manichaeism as reported in my sources. It is all about making associations, our brain is wired for it the researchers have concluded. We make about sixty thousand (60k) associations a day!

Late last night I added the outline of points 5 through 8 to my eight (8) point list as I intended, but I’m still working on completing it. So, patience is the watch word.

This aft Juliet and I join up for the writing of her story’s next chapter, some socialising and the groceries not to forget!
