Yesterday was quite rainy until after supper time, but the moisture was quite welcome for our earth bound life companions! Another important event was the opening of Calgary’s experimental cycle track along 12th Ave SW from 11th street west to McLeod, I presume or further east possibly.
It was well publicised and received much comment, mostly appreciative and more such cycle lanes are to come.
It was well publicised and received much comment, mostly appreciative and more such cycle lanes are to come. The first trial section is along 7th street SW from 2nd ave to the tracks on 7th ave has been in place for about a year. It is built with fixed curbs, bike lights and solid green car crosses. The present curbs are all removable and use patched green car cross sections. A smart solution I would say, not too costly and providing safe passage for the cyclists.
My visit with Juliet went as expected. I brought the requested groceries from which I made a green salad for dinner later on. But first came Juliet’s new written section of her story, the computer transcription of which took us to supper time.
After our nice dinner and salad (!), I explained how she can charge her camera from the laptop and down loaded the found camera pictures for her. Windows 8.1 does not seem to have a good native photo package, like Windows . I also have two older cameras of Juliet that I’ll take to London Drugs for assessment.
This aft a visit to John and a stop by the book store on the way, where I want to find out whether I can order a copy of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TRC) report.
From the reports in the media I gather that children were taken away into school custody for seven generations until 1996 as I mentioned some time ago. I suspect that there are other similar items that have not made it into the news coverage.
