Diary: Housework and rusty web techniques:

~~Coffee with Rene, vacuuming was on the order paper and old web skills had to be refreshed.~~

Yesterday’s tasty coffee at Rene’s was amicable, but it was too early to sit in his well kept garden. Next time I’ll try for an afternoon tea! In yesterday’s aft I vacuumed and dusted my apartment, but the two standard floor washings still remain to be done.

This held a surprise for me in that I have forgotten some very basic techniques and coding conventions I used to know well a few - four I‘d say - years ago.

In the evening I completed the entry of the day and also returned to the webpage design enhancements. This held a surprise for me in that I have forgotten some very basic techniques and coding conventions I used to know well a few - four I‘d say - years ago. The brain shunts what I do not use often enough and that is a natural process, but recall come easily once accessed again.

I sent an email to Suzanne with a picture of her daughter winning gold at the Pan-Am games. Maybe this time I’ll get an acknowledgement; an earlier hello stayed unresponded. Today Juliet and I will meet up again and hopefully I’ll be able to fix her printer’s problem.

Writings: Living with feelings thoughts and complexity:

~~The importance of combining our four human capacities [functions] in order to function efficiently and effectively with mutual respect in our earthly existence.~~

Last night I went to bed with the thought that we as human beings need to balance thought and feeling when making our ways through life. Feelings and emotion empower us, but ignored feelings can overpower us and cause much damage.

This morning I awoke still with some thoughts about feelings in that we need to live with them, but not from them. The neo-cortex is capable of interacting the amygdala where the emotions ‘reside’, which we know about through our heart, hence the importance of the heart regarding feelings.

But then there is also ‘intuition’ I recalled, the way and experience of knowing something directly without being able to say why or how. Intuition is experienced directly, while feelings have causes we can reason about. I often juxtaposition sensing - smell, cold - with intuition, as both are experienced directly, the first sensing the outer world and the second the inner world.

I often juxtaposition sensing - smell, cold - with intuition, as both are experienced directly, the first sensing the outer world and the second the inner world.

All together a complex whole, but we are complex beings, now in a complex world. That makes it worth the effort to be able and to know how to function efficiently and effectively.

Humans are quite capable of wasting energies on unrealistic causes and ideologies. Heedless and wilful pursuit of which can cause much damage, when such complexities of human nature and humanity’s global interlinked social structure are discarded. That kind of behaviour is no longer fitting and costs too much!

So, let us be kind to ourselves and function with regard and respect for humanity as a whole, for our fellow human being and no less for ourselves.
