Unusual Saturday this time around, because I’ll meet John and extended family tonight for Shirley’s birthday, as well as for whishing him, Tammy and Annie a ‘bon voyage’ for their Berlin trip.

As for this morn, I’ll start on the third category of my BlueNotes titled ‘Content’, because last night by eight (8) pm I’d completed the ‘Teaching’ extracts summary. All that after an extra long lunch with Herman and a happy hour of two with Shirley cum Sophie as a postponed birthday celebration and gift. Shirley and I had not connected like that for a long time and it was good to celebrate our friendship again, which has lasted for over twenty years.

After last night’s National I read Pope Francis’ UN address, consisting of about ten pages of text. It was much different from the US Congress address that he gave. The former was aimed at the UN diplomats and quite intellectual, whereas the latter had quite a strong emotional appeal.

I was surprised last night as I read the UN speech, about my need to understand what the Pope intended to convey with what he said. I expected the direct style of his Congressional address, where the intent was clear from the words. But, only this morning did I realise that each audience needed its own attuned speech in content and style.

Today I intent to start on extracting the BlueNote entries for the ‘Content’ category which add up to seven. The two remaining categories - to wit ‘Humanity and Diversity’ and ‘Narrative’ - only have four BlueNote entries each, but I do not know their individual lengths. There maybe some surprises there!
