I’m typing on my Apad – Asus Tablet – that is, because I want to become more proficient at using it. What prompted me to do this is my Alexandra Writing group sessions and my decision to down load Widows 10 for my Apad this week end. So, here I am now relearning to use my pad computer with the Targus remote keyboard. It is like beginning all over again, but learning is good for the brain, though it may be demanding on my soul and self esteem!
I am also hampered by the lack of mousebility, since I am using the tablet detached from its standard keyboard. So, productivity suffers, while I climb my learning curve. Speaking of which, that gives me the chance to air my pet beef. A steep curve means a quick increase against time, so it is the gentle learning curve that shows learning increases little as time progresses, indicating that learning is hard or that the learner is slow on the uptake.
Trying to down load Windows 10 showed me that I should use my Apad more frequently. This became evident when I stopped at Memory Express for some assistance as my tablet would not download at all. At the service desk there, the young woman showed me how to get the missing updates. Those amounted to about 140 before my Apad was even able to take that down load.
All this took quite a bit of time, but the tell tale windows icon in the taskbar indicating eligibility status still would not show up. No one behold the next day when I was asking John for his help the icon did make its appearance; my son does know a lot about computers, but this was beyond my expectations:)!
So it was about 8pm Saturday before I started the down load which completed just after midnight. I let it sit overnight and in the morning it still took about 90 minutes to complete the updating. After all this effort I am now committed to use this tablet more often, improving my efficiency as I go along.
Sarah and BJ are always very welcoming, good hosts and a pleasure to visit. So, take a bow guys, good to see you and blessings for your family.
On Sunday at I stopped at Sarah and BJ’s to attend the birthday party they had organised for Sole, their now one year old daughter. I was the first guest, but Laddy and godfather Richard were there, with others arriving soon after. Sarah and BJ are always very welcoming, good hosts and a pleasure to visit. So, take a bow guys, good to see you and blessings for your family.
I had to leave early to be on time at our Life Enrichment meeting, which I just managed to do. Our crowd there was only four and seven counting all present. Denise ordered the tray I pioneered last week to help her take the two coffees over Herman’s hide away after the presentation.
