Diary: Early start and browsing old writings:

~~I recall an old saying this morning and describe last night’s resolve regarding my old writings and records, as to how to sort and what to keep or discard.~~

I’m catching my worm today, which has become an exception. That is in part due to my sitting up to about midnight and the other part is the age of my body. But, today I put all that to the wind and I’m here ‘Bright eyed and bushy tailed’ at they say in the military. I learned this expression from my fellow Masters Engineering student Mike young, back in 1967 at UoT.

Today my visit to Juliet is confirmed as per yesterday’s phone call and I already have my shopping list! Don is back tomorrow and we may meet up, while on Friday it is lunch for Herman and myself.

I finally came across some of my writing for the Mount Royal writing courses dating to 1995 to 1997.

Yesterday I stayed in for the day and browsed some more through my writing collection. I finally came across some of my writing for the Mount Royal writing courses dating to 1995 to 1997. The major essays for the Advanced composition and the Philosophy courses are not to be found on paper. I suspect that I may have to look at my 3.5-inch floppies for them, as I used a AST Research computer at that time. I have a borrowed drive for this one that Michelle lent me, but which I never yet tried!

Last night after some more perusal of the mentioned writings some of which date to the mid 1980-ties, I made a decision as to how to organise these records. First I’ll sort by date making notes as to the subject category of the items making a list as I go along. Next I’ll skim, scan and read to determine which to keep or let go.

Time has come to make that kind of decision and I also want to look back and summarise at this time, but not just throw it all out. I wish myself fortitude, perseverance, motivation and satisfaction to complete this intellectual harvest journey.

Writings: Humanity circumscribed:

~~ Three aspects circumscribe our human existence.~~

I have come to the following circumscription of humanity by using the aspects of the personal, the collective and the transcendent.

Through the physical experience in the body each person enriches its spirit by means of the soul, collectively humanity aims at exploring all that is possible within its realm, while humanity as a whole and in person explore the connectedness with that which is beyond our particular human way of being.

This statement assumes that there are other ways of conscious existence within all that exists, a mystery that is knowable and includes all that exists, which I have called ‘Existence Divine’.

How to define and understand our own - homo sapiens - position?

I realise that this condensed description requires considerable exposition, with which I intend to follow up. For the moment I just wanted to put this morning’s ‘circumscription’ into recorded words, print is out and work out an appropriate elaboration. One that will be inspiring about what we are about as humans within this vast universe of ours with existence beyond possibly.

My basic premise is that as humanity - being modern homo sapiens - we are only beginning to understand our own position ‘in the overall scheme of existence.’ How to define and understand, that is my main aim.
