Yesterday aft, Don and I met as planned at Chinook for our chat, which had been a while on account of Don’s trips. He’d brought me a bag of Baker potatoes from the family form near Outlook. He also gave me two little articles from the local paper there. I always enjoy those ‘snap-tails’ - think snapshots - from local scenes and from Saskatchewan in particular. Don gave me a ride home on account of the potatoes I think. So, thanks Don good friend.
Today Juliet and I will meet, I expect, for some more transcribing of her ‘My Story’ of which we now have made a start on the last chapter. I hope that Juliet will feel better, but that is not a given these days, with even the simple household tasks becoming difficult to do. But, Juliet is a person of good cheer and much determination, so she does not let such things dominate her life.

Last day afternoon and evening I worked some more on my floppy disk project, completing it. Each ’Box-folder’ has theme named disk-folders and readme files with explanatory notes. I printed of some old favourites writings - The Plumes - and some surprise pieces such as ‘Completion of my Marriage’. My inkling is growing stronger to post some of these writings - now from twenty years ago - on my website.
While shuffling through one of the bottom half of a current storage box, I rediscovered the ‘HTW forms’, which belong the HTW manual that I have. I bought it in Holland as part of my education for Surveyor - Landmeter - back in 1958, when this tomb had just been published. I used it at least twice in my studies and work, once for my mater’s thesis and once here in Calgary when consulting.
These forms are computational schemes for the so called technical surveys for the Kadaster division of the Department of Finance in my old country. I was pleased to locate these forms again and have now put them together with the HTW manual in full view on a bookshelf. This way they will not become hidden away again, as they would do over all the years that I have had them in my possession!

Last evening Elisabeth and I met for our ice cream as intended. I was just in time at the store as they were closing, but I was still served for two ice creams to the tune of ten dollars for the two! Elisabeth walked me home from the store as we were having a good connection.
Her son was laid off again and now plans to go in for an MBA, which for him will be a good choice. I have the notion that the oil industry in Alberta has seen most of its field and development activities, and will now become a royalty management enterprise.
