Diary: Fire bins Beano and liberation:

~~Wishing for rain to reduce Fort Mac’s fire, bin trip and Beano coffee with John and Holland’s Liberation.~~

Today is cooler than it has been, but the leaves and flowers are out, with the shrubs in bloom. Yesterday was summer like, short sleeves and short pants, but we are all wishing for rain to water the new growth and douse the fires in Fort McMurray. And, when approaching Juliet’s place yesterday I notices that some trees are shedding green leaves to reduce their water demand.

John came over at ten, we loaded his car with my recyclables and were of to the bins, then off to Beano's we went.

John came over at ten, we loaded his car with my recyclables and were of to the bins. There a homeless man was still asleep and I deposited my cashable empties beside him, while John put the rest into the bins. Then, we were of to the ‘Beano’ for coffee and underway John related how he knew the owner of the original Beano, from his days in the restaurant service world. He met up with some people who gave him good mentor ship. I also got my Windows phone back now that John has his new Motorola!

In the aft I visited Juliet and we added another page to her story. She also got two edited chapters back from her niece, which I printer on my printer last night; hers won’t print black. Today is ascension day for some Christians and liberation day for my old country men.

There - in the Dutch press - the public discourse is about the present unwillingness to receive new refugees, while after the second World War people had a far more generous attitude. I think that people today are dealing with so much change in society that they don’t want any more of it.

Writings: Notes noted:

~~I elaborate further on note one (1) and decide to write a short essay on its theme.~~

Last night I posted the entry for the day, printed it to read it over in my lazy chair and penciled in some comments on which I will elaborate some more. There is still something in the reported notes 1 and 2 that asks for elaboration, so here goes.

Note one (1) says - paraphrasing myself - that the old stories are now replaced by discoveries and that the set frame by an external source no longer suffices.

Note one (1) says - paraphrasing myself - that the old stories are now replaced by discoveries and that the set frame by an external source no longer suffices. In my own note from last night I say this:
“Note one (1) signals the shift from the closed to the open world of the human world of experience. But in stepping over the threshold we should honour and value our past as we work on ‘discovering’ our (future) way ahead.”

I still feel that this needs to be expanded further, which may have to become a short essay. The short daily recording is not a good framework for that, so I’ll will attempt the essay route - see ’Topicals’ on my website - and leave a reference to this in my future writings.
<9:12am and 9:23am~
