Today is cooler than it has been, but the leaves and flowers are out, with the shrubs in bloom. Yesterday was summer like, short sleeves and short pants, but we are all wishing for rain to water the new growth and douse the fires in Fort McMurray. And, when approaching Juliet’s place yesterday I notices that some trees are shedding green leaves to reduce their water demand.

There a homeless man was still asleep and I deposited my cashable empties beside him, while John put the rest into the bins. Then, we were of to the ‘Beano’ for coffee and underway John related how he knew the owner of the original Beano, from his days in the restaurant service world. He met up with some people who gave him good mentor ship. I also got my Windows phone back now that John has his new Motorola!
In the aft I visited Juliet and we added another page to her story. She also got two edited chapters back from her niece, which I printer on my printer last night; hers won’t print black. Today is ascension day for some Christians and liberation day for my old country men.
There - in the Dutch press - the public discourse is about the present unwillingness to receive new refugees, while after the second World War people had a far more generous attitude. I think that people today are dealing with so much change in society that they don’t want any more of it.
