I just have discovered that Shaw provider is ‘unproviding’ this morning, no land phone, no tv and no internet, but fortunately, I have my cell phone and put is to good use already.
Friday night John and I took in the CPO’s Bach Mass performance at Knox United. Well attended and well performed too, with an excellent choir. This time John drove me home as he had come down by car, whereas previously we would have met after his work.

Saturday Michelle phoned suggesting we have our ‘ethnic’ dinner at the new A&W here on 17th Ave and we did. This North American ethnic dinner was a good eat and made us recall some drive in visit from long ago. Just before that dinner I had joined Sarah, Sole, Laddie, Heinz and Irene for a bier at the ‘Wurst’ on the patio there.
Michelle and I walked along 17th Ave, looking for an ice cream place, which we found after I deployed my Windows phone, which came up with three places. Only one was a live one; a yogurt place; so close.
On Sunday I visited with my friends at the Palliser to hear Herman speak on ‘Inspiration’, as he related this to his late mentor and friend Ray Barker’s (USA) New Thought teachings. Afterwards Thomas gave me a ride home and we had a little catch up that way, as we had not connected for some time.
My wifi display says that I’m connected, but I doubt whether the email of Shaw will work. I will try that right now. No dice:-(! So, I’ll just have to keep on writing!
I have started browsing my newly acquired “Silk Roads” by Peter Frankopan an interesting book, but lacking a bit in maps, time tables of people, regimes and events. This is something the book reviewer C. Thubron in the New York Review did not mention, but should have. Today’s reviews are more promotional pieces that they that are critical, as you would expect. Pro and con should be the guiding principle in this case. No?
