Diary: Visits computerings and Hindu readings:

~~Juliet takes a turn today, John helped me with my lame computer, I make progress with backups for files and computer and a good start in my ‘Hindu book’.~~

Today I expect to meet up with Juliet, whom I have not seen for several weeks. She’s been quite busy with family visits and last Wednesday I had to prepare for my Sunday presentation for the Calgary Life Enrichment Centre. My taking a turn on some Sundays gives Herman and Denise a much deserved break from their weekly Sunday routine. They often visit Kananaskis Country at their time off.

Yesterday aft John came with the new power supply unit for my desktop Asus, but it did not fix the problem. I have the nasty feeling that is it going to come down to a motherboard replacement, which will cost plenty. But, maybe it will just be a store diagnosis and reset of the bios. However, John improved the situation by getting the OS to fire up and I now leave it in the sleep mode and then restart from that state, which works fine.

This gave me a chance last evening to do a complete copy and paste of my user-Tony file folder to my backup disk. This folder includes my whole web directory among other things and took almost ninety (90) minutes to complete. I also got the Filezilla to work on my Toshiba, so I’m close to completing its website mirror function for TTS, which stand for my “TonysThoughtShoppe.info”website.

I am also making regular reading progress in ’s “The Hindus” subtitled ‘An Alternative history’, consisting of 692 reading pages, with 100 more for references and index. I’m at page 68, so ten percent along and fully engaged in this interesting book. The author is a language specialist by training and an authority on Hinduism. Her approach is from the feminine perspective, emphasising the social, language and cultural aspects of India’s Hindu society and history. It makes for a combination that I find very engaging.
