Diary: Talkless shoppings and references:

~~Yesterday’s coffee talk fell through, I shop around and receive new meditation references from Gabriella.~~

Yesterday, Jack begged off from our planned coffee talk on account of contractor visits to his new domicile. I wished him good luck with the planned renovations. I did make a quick shopping trip to Safeway for a paper and a few supper potatoes and met Bob again, a youth friend of my two sons.

Today I went out shopping at nine am to make my first trip on this discount day. As I walked out of the store I realised that the looked for discount of ten percent had not been applied. So, I returned and was given the missed discount retroactively without any fuss! My second trip will take place in the aft, which gives me some extra activity and also ensures that the meat counter has its full selection available.

Last evening Gabriella phoned to give me some links and references relating to her talk on July 31, which I will chair. I had asked her for some material relating to her topic of gratitude with the intention of relating my meditation to her topic.

She gave me several and since these are unknown to me I look forward to exploring them. ‘Nothing ventured, nothing gained!’ we used to say as students back at UToronto and that has been proven true for me many a time.

It is better to live your age and enjoy what it has to offer, this way you bring gratitude in your own life; as suggested by Albert Schweitzer.

Also yesterday, I talked to my sister Els in the old country, which was pleasant enough and took over an hour. She is planning a electric bicycle trip with her and my younger sister later this month. I promised to send them as much sunny weather as possible, which lacking there at this time. She is doing ok and was visited by her youngest grandson who drove up in a car as brand new driver at 18 years of age! He starts on an activity of which she and I are letting go! Some people say they are 80-years young, but the evidence is hard to get! It is better to live your age and enjoy what it has to offer, this way you bring gratitude in your own life; as suggested by Albert Schweitzer.
