Yesterday I went for a walk first and then started on sorting my living room table’s burden! In the aft I vacuumed my apartment and in the evening I composed the invitation for my three birthday celebrations. Two were mailed out as a trial, with the rest to follow today. I also searched out the way to view live Olympic performances and their schedules.
A day well spent you might say! And not to forget, I also phoned my sister Els to let her know that the little parcel had arrived, complete with the commemorative stamps for Maarten Toonder's ‘Olivier B. Bommel’ and ‘Tom Poes’. These are 75 years of age in the world of cartoons and comics. This means that they found their ‘way in ink of print’ in the first year of WW2! Not insignificant, I would say!
At eighty I am allowed to speak out is my motto. If not now, then when!
Today I will not visit Juliet, but will give her a call. For later on I plan to wash the kitchen and washroom floors and ‘do’ the sinks. This in preparation for my son Metta, formerly Derrick, coming on Saturday. I also plan to outline my talk slated for Sunday, which has taken a different theme, as I will be adding my own teaching as well to those initially planned. At eighty I am allowed to speak out is my motto. If not now, then when!
And my first birthday cards are on display in my abode, thanks to Els and Herman and Denise.
