Friday morn I was up late and skipped the ‘Free Fall’ writing session, but during the day I did respond to my urge to activate my Asus tablet - Atab - I call it. This took some doing as it was out of juice and once charged, would not fire up the display. On an impulse, I removed the wireless mouse receiver usb plug and voila, there was the display in full glory. Now I still have to find out how to print using the wifi, which I can do from my Toshiba. Live and learn is the message, with the medium as teacher!
On my Atab I discovered a forgotten entry for May 8, 2016. It refers to my newly upholstered chair and has two short paragraphs under the title “Religious Update’. Each paragraph read like a thesis statements that I can work out into talks! I’ll repeat them below in Writings.
Sunday, just as I was about to start supper preps, the exterior door buzzer went and there was Ina - my former spouse - at the door. She was upset because of being rear ended, though with minor damage. So she wanted company and we decided on the Joyce patio in the late sun.
It was an unexpected meet, yet we related surprisingly well, enjoying old familiar ties, sharing some common life experience wisdoms.
We talked for about an hour, with among the topics Ina’s siblings about which I never get to hear much, but still wonder about. I also gave her my coffee grinder, which I have used at least once that I remember! Later she called me that she had arrived safely at home after that one beer!
It was an unexpected meet, yet we related surprisingly well, enjoying old familiar ties, sharing some common life experience wisdoms. Life’s lessons are not always as you expect or want them to be, but are valuable and often more acceptable than you would expect. So, I look back with cherish at a pleasant visit with a beer, sun and good company.
