The mornings of the last two days have been dedicated to the sorting and cleaning up of the big table in my bedroom. That is where the mail accumulates and where I keep my files and stuff! I am not done yet, but it already looks much better and I did want to keep the Wednesday for at least one Daily Entry per week.
I also attacked one of the two piles in my living area. One is now much diminished, having been undone of its books, while the other it now spread out in little piles on my all dining area table. I made some discoveries while so engaged, such as an April 16, 2013 Globe article that mentions Sixto Rodriguez, my hero of ‘Searching for Sugarman’ fame!
We demolished, as we said as engineering students at UoT, two beers, not forty, as we related experiences and shared memories.
Last Monday my former wife Ina buzzed my door, inviting me for a bier at Joyce on Forth to celebrate my 80th birthday as yet and make use of the fine weather, which we did for about two hours. This combined in my telling Ina that our former residence 3610 Tenth street sw had been replaced with a new one. We lived there from 1974 to 1982 and have our fondest memories from that period, as we explored Calgary and the West as newcomers from Toronto and Ottawa.
John and I connected over this passed weekend over a coffee and a visit to Lindt. He had a productive training week in Las Vegas and sounded ready to tackle the next certification hurdle. Not an easy row to how at this time in his career, but also an opportunity to become independent of a large corporation.

I never did in my career, but I did as immigrant at the age of twenty two (22). That was my chosen challenge to be independent, while my career at SAIT for twenty six (26) years provided security for our family, based on the still mainly single income at the time.
Tomorrow Juliet and I meet again to work on the closing chapter of her book, while on Friday I plan to write at Alex and possibly visit with Rene. Metta sent me his family photo choices and now I have to wait for Ina to make her choice. Thursday and Friday will see some more sorting and cleaning up, as this has become a priority in this my eighty first year!
