Last Tuesday was quiet and yesterday I visited Juliet, but she had not much writing to be transcribed to the computer. So, we chatted and prepared our evening meals and chatted some more. It is getting to be time for Juliet to finish her story, now that we are in her last chapter.
One unusual thing on Tuesday was the closure of 26th Ave between 2nd and first streets SW by the police. They were doing a recovery operation of a human body found in the Elbow river at that location. There must have been at least seven different service vehicles with flashing lights and busy people. Later on it occurred to me that the police always has to expect the worst, which would be murder instead of an accident. So, I have forgiven them all the commotion they made and the rerouting of local residents even!
I always keep an eye out for news that gets displaced from the head lines in such situations.
Trump and relating activities are still much in the news, but we’ll have to give him and his team time to settle in, which in his case will be different from previous such processes. I always keep an eye out for news that gets displaced from the head lines in such situations.
For example, the government of Israel often makes moves at such times on items it wants to keep out of the headlines. Case in point is that government’s approval legitimizing the expropriation of Palestinian properties and the displacement of its residents to the benefit of orthodox Jewish settler-squatters. An other one is the outright bombing of ‘rebel’ districts in Syria’s Aleppo. In this case it is Putin making use of the US media being preoccupied with the election of Trump.
