This morning I combine an old dream’s charge with my notion of last night and make that my motto for today in regard to getting started with my essay on the human narrative.
Last night at 11:50pm I wrote in my ‘silk road’ narrow notebook that I have to write from the point of view of ‘service’, meaning that my writing must be of service to the reader. Then later, at 0:20am I added: ‘to comfort’ - as in the Dutch ‘troostend’, was to be the intend of my writing, my motivation. This notion of ‘troostend’ was pointed out to me by Peter Sluys, in response to my explanation social change, back in 1999 in the Netherlands.
The ‘from an attitude of gracious gratitude’ is from a dream I had in the early 1990-ties.
Combining these notions, values and sentiments I wrote this morning in the same notebook on page 141: “I writhe/write from an attitude of gracious gratitude in service to/of humankind.” The ‘from an attitude of gracious gratitude’ is from a dream I had in the early 1990-ties, while the ‘service’ idea emerged over the last few days and to which I added that the message must be comforting in affect.
