Yesterday I met with Don at Kingsland for a common soup and eat. We chat and relate about shared interests, which include family, agriculture, the economy and food. Don brought me a parsnip and some of his home made cookies. Half of those are gone already! After our sit and chat I stocked up on some produce and then Don was so kind again to drive me home. Don also gave me his cookie recipe, which now puts me on the spot; but, I did ask for it! Literaly.

Later today I’ll meet Herman for lunch; apparently the Friday’s have become available again for him. Yesterday I phoned my sister Els, but she expected a visitor, so we’ll talk shortly again. John should be back from Orlando tomorrow, and for Metta aka Derrick I left a message. Yesterday evening Elisabeth and I met for an ice cream at Marcus on 17th and 9th SW. The place was busy with people lining up at times.
The sun is peeking through between the many clouds and it amazes me how much brighter things are when it does! Keep going there sun! Last, but not least I did some more sorting and cleaning up of little piles, with more to go.
Els just called and informed me about her medical situation for which she now has to decide whether to take chemo treatment or not. She remains vague about the prognosis, but that maybe because she is still dealing with this unwelcome surprise. Regardless, she is going on a holiday trip next week to Bologna, Italy, a booked tour. She has good family holiday memories of Italy, which will help her to deal with her new reality.
I wish her well.
