No entrees so far this week, but I have been busy! On Monday I vacuumed my apartment and washed the bathroom floor, while on Tuesday my day was rearranged right from getting up. I had wandered into the living area after getting up and heard a clattering sound in the very corner I now sit and write. Water was running onto my Sony speaker coming from a tiny hole in the ceiling. I got my dish rinsing bowl to catch the stream and from then on it was getting stuff out of the way, putting it safe.
This I quickly followed up with a call to Peter, our intermittent landlord, but answering the cell phone in BC. He ordered the plumber, who did come at 2pm when the water stream had retracted to a drop every five counts. Other moisture spots had formed though and there are now three of them.
The item most damaged is Tieneke’s fancy weekly calendar that she sent me for my eightieth birthday. I interleafed its ca seventy pages with blank paper sheets so absorb the moisture and to prevent the glossy pages all becoming clumped together. In this I succeeded, but the bottom half of every page now dry, but wavy.
The planned Stampede visit for last Tuesday with Elisabeth and I ‘fell into the water’ as the Dutch say, all on account of that heavy overnight rain that caused the leak in my writing corner!
On Wednesday I was in the dentist recliner for a denture follow up visit. It had become unbearably wearable. But Steve’s sculpturing skills - as I call those - fixed the problem and I can now eat with my denture in! Which is the whole idea; no?
Yesterday I also washed the kitchen floor and right now I’m doing the laundry. The planned Stampede visit for last Tuesday by Elisabeth and I ‘fell into the water’ as the Dutch say, all on account of that heavy overnight rain that caused the leak in my writing corner! But, in retrospect I am thankful that the water did not leak onto my large book collection! That was much good luck with a little bead luck. And now I am … Laundry time!
Back at 10:26 including coffee break.
I am I said now also attending to some accumulation piles that have been sitting patiently for years. There is one yet that I have to shake up. All this because I intuited change from that watery message that shook up my daily routine and made me move piles that had been in neutral for a long time. When external events shake up your routine there is a message that you - that is I - should extend this disturbance to that which has been put off for long enough!!
This is the message from ‘water’, like the Cirque de Soleil show that I saw in Las Vegas in 2005 at the invitation of Diane on our return from Encinitas, Ca, USA. I’m closing here as laundry calls and lunch is approaching!
