I could not pass up that little poetic play on leaves leaving I had made up earlier! And just as I was about to start typing, Don phoned to double check that we were not to meet at Kingsland today, which we were and are not. But we started chatting and is was twenty minutes later before I returned to start this daily entry.

Last night John and I met at Aida’s for dinner and then drove to Arts Commons where we took in the “How Graphic can you Get” event which featured four authors who write and work with graphics and or photos. Each presented some thing of their works taking turns as the host asked them. Then, the host - a journalist - asked each some relating questions about their individual creative processes.

Chelsea Vowel addresses current issues in Canadian society regarding the Native Indian peoples over the past hundreds of years and their effects to this very day.

The whole presentation was rounded of with questions from the audience, which was sparse, but engaged. One artist told us he tried drawing, but was unsuccessful at it and used photographs instead. These he takes when a situation inspires him with certain emotions, which he then writes about. John and I bought the book “Indigenous Writes” by the Native Canadian author Chelsea Vowel. She addresses current issues in Canadian society regarding the Native Indian peoples over the past hundreds of years and their effects to this very day.

Chatting as John drove me home, we agreed that our choice of presentation had been a good one. On my part I noted that this presentation reminded me of my own ‘Left_Hand’ art work which is also a combination of drawing first followed by a few written words. And that this event urged me to revisit those five books of about twenty drawings each, which are also posted on my website, which is really my publishing venue in effect.

Last night at around eleven pm I was inspired to note the essential points of “My Apostolic Message”, which I did on the last page (13) of the blue Hilroy thin cahier. I decide to use message in stead of view, because view is a way to see, while message conveys a way to act.

The following points are about form and structure and not about content of a human tradition.

1. A message across humanity’s religions and traditions.
2. Existence as ‘A knowable Mystery’.
3. The human as the conscious knower.
4. The creative human actor.
5. The perspective on humanity’s potential in this knowable Mystery.

The points 2 through 5 are meant as fundamental aspects that are equally applicable to each belief framework as points to examine and inform; they are about form and structure and not about content of a human tradition.
