1. Good Morning Canada from accross the avenue. 2. Stampede's Maple Leaf flag, flags. Note the walker in his red shirt, which is Canada day dress code for the so inclined. 3. Street collector in repose at the Elbow's shore at 24th Ave. Note the loaded shopping cart to the left of the resting 'Bottle-plus' collector. 4. Typical summer river flotilla now that the spring flows have eased. 5. River rafters and 'beachcombers' at Elbow towers. 6. Ready to float underneath the 25th Ave bridge, which was partly washed out in last year's deluge. 7. Elbow towers and its new 'The River' rival. 8. Accross the ave the Maple leaf flies high and … 9. … undaunted. 10. A lone rafter moving right along on the Elbow's fast and cold waters. 11. Flag display in a Roxborough backyard across the river. 12. Water borne floating along. 13. But here comes a rough spot … 14. …which is managed nicely. This rough water is due to a new gravel bed, deposited by last year's flood stream. 15. Rest spot for the weary travelers. 16. A shot from my rest perch across 4th street with the Elbow bus backend just in the picture on the right. The "Midniter" from days gone by is the drug store across the street. 17. Holiday celebrants on and along 4th street. 18. And more at the Irish pub where I celebrated my 70th birthday with friends. It is all renewed after last year's spring flood and reopened only late May this year! 5. Breakfast and lunch, but no dinner at this Diner! 6. One chair left of the two I photographed back in 2009 on Canada Day. 19. Stampede's flag unfurled in the Southerly breeze. 20. Accross the 22nd ave you may notice missing houses, there were four, and the coloured fence panels advertising the new 51-unit condo. This is typical in my neighbourhood. 21. Red Papavers for Canada Day, instead of the orange coloured ones. 6. Customers for the goodies at the Patisserie. 22. One last showing of "The Colours". 23. The END.
